BBC Sounds Platform launched the biggest since iPlayer over a decade ago - housing over 80,000 hours of music, radio and podcasts - we created an idea that would distinguish us from other audio platforms. We focused on human connection with sound, and the indescribable way it makes you feel - the way it transforms you, moves you, or takes you somewhere else entirely. In collaboration with award winning director Sam Brown we created a surreal film that shows the way different sounds transform each of us everyday, using playful language and distorted photography to bring the power of sound to life.

Impact: In 2023 (Jan to Nov) there were over 2 billion plays of radio, music and podcasts on BBC Sounds, with a 34% increase to podcasts year on year. On-demand music listening also continues to grow with record time spent in 2023 and a total of 47.6 million plays for music mixes on BBC Sounds.
